Q: “Are you a hack like most of today’s
freelancers?”
A: Oh goodness no, I’m much more like the hacks of yesteryear.
Q: “Do
you bill by the hour or by the job?”
A: By the job, usually.
Q: “Has your work been featured
in any awards shows?”
A: Wow, thanks for asking. I love to talk about that. My work has been in the
Communications Arts Advertising Annual, the Print Regional Design Annual,
the Indianapolis Addys Best of Show, and several others.
Q: “So you’re a writer. Big whoop. I need a complete brochure,
not just the words. I’m screwed, right?”
A: Actually no. I work with a number of freelance designers, as well as a large
group of ad agencies and design firms. I can take care of you even if your
needs go beyond writing.
Q: “I’m from the corporate
world. Buzzwords and pique shirts made me feel comfortable. Why would I ever
want to work with someone like you?”
A: Let me put this in language you’ll feel more at home with: I develop
value added marketing materials that leverage the strengths of your brand and
launch you beyond the status quo. By partnering with your business to develop
scalable strategies and best-in-class communications materials, I help you
increase revenue and market share.
Q: “Did you ever see that one episode of ‘Friends’ where…”
A: No.
Q: “I think I can save a few bucks
by going with someone else. What do you say to that?”
A: When your marketing budget is well spent, it makes you money. I craft
communications that get results. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s
done right. When you go the cheap route, all you do is slowly waste your
money.
